Craniosacral Therapy: CranioSacral Therapy (CST) was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics.
CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and may be effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

Acupressure: Pressure applied at specific points along the meridians to help treat various imbalances within the body's energy fields.

Chakra Balancing: Method applied to each chakra or primary energy center in the body to help balance and bring forth good health.

Sound Therapy: Vocal, instrumental, and frequency-enhancing tools may be used in a treatment session as well as binaural beats to help promote well-being.

Reflexology: Pressure and energy work applied to points on the hands and feet to promote well-being.
Gua Sha: Gua sha is the practice of using a tool to apply pressure and scrape the skin to relieve pain and tension. This action causes light bruising, which often appears as purple or red spots known as petechiae or sha. The name gua sha originates from the Chinese word for scraping. It may also be called skin scraping, spooning, or coining. According to traditional Chinese medicine, qi is energy that flows through the body. Many people believe that a person’s qi must be balanced and flowing freely to ensure their health and wellbeing. People also believe that qi can become blocked, causing pain or tension in the muscles and joints. Gua sha aims to move this blocked energy to relieve aches or stiffness.

Laser Lipo: Laser lipo gently heats fat cells (adipocytes) until a hole is created in the cell membrane, releasing fatty acids from the cell. Your body will then begin to eliminate fatty acids, as well as toxins (depending upon the state of your adipocytes) through the lymphatic system. Sometimes these treatments are given alongside a typical treatment session. This treatment is recommended for those who already have a steady plan of weight-loss in motion.

Ayurveda: Ayurveda is considered by many scholars to be the oldest healing science. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “The Science of Life.” Ayurvedic knowledge originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing.” It stems from the ancient Vedic culture and was taught for many thousands of years in an oral tradition from accomplished masters to their disciples. Ayurveda involves the dosha classification system. Ayurveda is not recommended for patients with chronic disease or inflammation (Please see Functional Medicine). If you wish to have an Ayurveda-based nutritional plan, please request it prior your first appointment.

Herbal Medicine: Herbal medicine, also called botanical medicine or phytomedicine, refers to using a plant's seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark, or flowers for medicinal purposes. Herbalism has a long tradition of use outside conventional medicine. It is becoming more mainstream as improvements in analysis and quality control, along with advances in clinical research, show the value of herbal medicine in treating and preventing disease. Herbs are sometimes recommended as a part of a nutritional supplementation plan provided by Dr. Spillman. Dr. Spillman is a Master Herbalist and has over 30 years of experience working with herbs as both a forager and a formulator. Educational classes on Herbalism are available by request.

Facial Rejuvenation: Facial rejuvenation refers to any treatment that improves the muscle tone of the face, and therefor the appearance of the skin. Rejuvenation treatments are typically for facial concerns such as decreased muscle tone, causing skin laxity, issues such as Bell's Palsy, and concerns involving the Trigeminal Nerve. The purpose of a rejuvenation treatment is to incite the body’s natural regenerative abilities, specifically the facial nerve's ability to heal and improve muscle tone and confidence. You can think of rejuvenation treatments as a renewal of the face, which can help refresh your appearance to a more youthful and radiant glow. Our sessions at Phirefly Healing include enzyme treatments, eye muscle massage, magnetic therapy, crystal therapy, sound therapy, herbal medicine, craniosacral therapy, gua sha, acupressure, infrared light therapy, radiofrequency therapy, and acupuncture.

Neural Emotional Technique: Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is based on the concept that unresolved emotional trauma is stored in the body. Emotions such as excessive, unresolved anger, grief and fear may long affect us even after we have forgotten the event that caused them. Since our emotional reality dramatically affects our health, using NET to identify these negatively charged emotions (Neuro-Emotional Complexes) and releasing them can normalize abnormal physical and behavioral patterns. Please request NET before your first appointment begins.

Sacral Occipital Technique: Sacro Occipital Technique is a comprehensive technique which uses body indicators for determining skeletal, cranial, neurological and visceral malfunctions. In some cases, wedge-shaped blocks are placed beneath the pelvis, using the weight of the body and breathing to improve the balance and position of the pelvic girdle. This technique is wonderful for those who require a less invasive chiropractic technique.

Acupuncture: Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese method used to relieve certain health conditions and symptoms, such as cervical, thoracic, or lumbar pain. A practitioner inserts very thin silver needles into the patient’s skin at multiple points along the body's meridian system. The needles rebalance the body’s energy, or qi, and prompt the body to release natural chemicals to restore balance.

Applied Kinesiology: Kinesiology, also known as biomechanics, is the study of body movement. Applied kinesiology (AK) which is also known as muscle strength testing, is a method of diagnosis and treatment based on the belief that various muscles are linked to particular organs and glands, and that specific muscle weakness can signal distant internal problems such as nerve damage, reduced blood supply, chemical imbalances or other organ or gland problems. Practitioners contend that by correcting this muscle weakness, you can help address an issue in the associated internal organ. Please request Applied Kinesiology at the time of your appointment booking.

Functional Medicine: Functional medicine is a systems biology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease. Functional Medicine considers the entire body and all of its systems, including laboratory tests, to help develop an individualized health plan that includes supplementation, lifestyle changes, dietary changes, and multiple systems of the body.

Moxibustion: Moxibustion is a form of therapy that entails the burning of mugwort leaves. This is a small, spongy herb that is believed to enhance healing with acupuncture.
